South America – The extra bits

South America – The extra bits

We’ve shown a fair few videos of South America now; the food, the Inca Trail, the Colca Canyon trek etc, but we’ve done so much that not everything can have its own video. This video shows loads – from various treks in Peru, horse riding in Bolivia and Argentina, dinosaur tracks, bus boats, carnival and dodgy showers in Bolivia, sand boarding in chile and the Uros floating islands in Peru. There’s even a shot of me hijacking a boat whilst the real ‘captain’ wasn’t looking…. Read the rest of this entry

Eating Bolivia and Chile

Eating Bolivia and Chile

The amount of times I’ve watched ‘I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here’ I tell you. Twice, I think. And boy what times I had! Celebrities climbing over things, jumping out of planes and sleeping in a jungle. And everytime I watched someone complain I got frustrated! I would love to climb over things, jump out of planes and sleep in the jungle!

Ring shopping in Santiago

As most of you know WE’RE ENGAGED! Yes that’s right, engaged and it is very exciting indeed. But at present my finger is naked, Tim bought me a beautiful proposal ring in Cusco (whilst I was suffering from the Altitude Sickness) but it is too big for my ring finger so is firmly placed on my fattest finger (this is still not fat enough to keep the one-size-fits-all ring on my finger, some sales people are unscrupulous). At the time of engagement, Tim promised me another ring – a proper engagement one.

Now a huge part of me thought ‘don’t be silly’. The ring I have is extremely pretty, a silver band with a pearl flower, and could easily be resized. But the girl in me just couldn’t say no to more jewellery so we began our search in Santiago. Read the rest of this entry

Making Gemma proud…

Making Gemma proud…

“Gemma!” I shouted, looking around for her “Gemma, look I can do it! I’m going really fast!” I couldn’t see her but I knew that if she was watching she’d be proud of me. Even though a few minutes earlier she’d been telling me that being good at sand boarding isn’t about going fast, it’s about having control of the board. I knew she was wrong, and I think deep down so did she. And now I was proving it by going really fast… I probably looked a bit like James Bond. Read the rest of this entry
