We’ve shown a fair few videos of South America now; the food, the Inca Trail, the Colca Canyon trek etc, but we’ve done so much that not everything can have its own video. This video shows loads – from various treks in Peru, horse riding in Bolivia and Argentina, dinosaur tracks, bus boats, carnival and dodgy showers in Bolivia, sand boarding in chile and the Uros floating islands in Peru. If there’s one thing Gemma would change about me it would probably be my idols. Nothing else. I’m sure there can be nothing else, otherwise why would she agree to marry me?
She thinks I’ve modelled myself on a cross between George Michael and Woody from Toy Story (also from Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3. Sadly, as an actor Woody is a victim of typecasting). She’s right of course – I love Woody, I love his outlook on life, his desire to always be playing with his best friends and his taste in fashion. God I love his taste in fashion. But it’s not just Woody, generally I just like all cowboys.

Every little girl dreams of being a cowboy. Well maybe not every, but I certainly did, until I found out they were the baddies. Then I wanted to be an Indian.
My dreams were fuelled by films like Back to the Future 3 and old westerns. And that was fuelled by my love for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. For those who haven’t seen it, it’s a witty drama starring Robert Redman and Paul Newman about two bank robbers and it’s based on a true story. It’s funny, romantic, bromantic and exciting.
So who was I to resist the charms of Tupiza, the nearest town to the village where they may or may not have met their end. Read the rest of this entry
